Bristish settlers inhabited the place, what is known now as Fairfield East, in the early 19th century. At the start of the 19th century, the residents used the land for farming and agricultural purposes. Fairfield East was part of two large properties: Orchardleigh in the North and Mark Lodge in the south. The properties in the north extended towards Guildford while property in the south included Villawood, Carramar and some parts of the Fairfield town center. The area had officially become Fairfield East in the year 1950.
