Fairfield west is a residential place which is found in Sydney in New South Wales Australia. The Fairfield West area is located around 33 km west of the CBD or the Sydney central business district where in it is also known as ‘the city’ because it is where all tall buildings are situated. The said area is also near at the local government are of Fairfield city. The Fairfield West is a part of the metropolitan area of Sydney or also known as the Greater Western Sydney region. The place has a postcode of 2165 which is the same postcode being used in the separate suburbs of Fairfield heights, Fairfield and Fairfield east.
History
The Fairfield west was first inhabited by the Cabrogal tribe until the British settlers arrived in Sydney. In 1856 there were substantial growth of population in the place and there was a railway station built in its neighboring suburbs. The increase in population around the station resulted in the place to be subdivided in the year 1870. At first the area were mostly use for farming but then the Progress Association which was established lead to the development of post office, schools and sports area which were all built in the community. In 1800’s the local industry in Fairfield West was cutting timber. This has brought other business in the town other than sawmilling. A public school was then built in the year 1925.

The Fairfield West’s population has a total of 10302 people where there 5198 which is around 50.5% are females and 5103 or 49.5% are males. The middle age living in the said place with regard to its total population is about 35 years old and 2 year lower compared to that of the Australian average.
