Pest Control West Hoxton

West Hoxton

West Hoxton is one of the suburbs near Sydney. It is located 40 kilometres away on the western part of Sydney’s Central Business District. It is under the state of New South Wales, Australia and belongs to the local government area of Liverpool City. It is also known as a part of the Greater Western region.

History
West Hoxton is basically just an extension of Hoxton Park which took so many years before it became a separate suburb. It shares the same history of its mother suburb. The very first land holders were Thomas Amos and John Jamison. He was the eldest son of Thomas Jamison a trained surgeon who joined the navy on 1808 who was then awarded with a knighthood in Sweden and was appointed as Knight Bachelor. In 1811, Sir John Jamison inherited his father’s properties. Part of it was the Hoxton Park. He was described as one of the free immigrants with great wealth and intelligence who advocate liberal principles.

The other previous land owner Thomas Amos was described as a bright young solicitor who was granted a grant land in 1808, which probably had been named as Hoxton Park – where he built a ‘pretty cottage’. Later on a series of events led to a local land syndicate Phillips & Co in 1887 to eventually get hold of the land and subdivided it thereafter.

West Hoxton was developed to become a residential area during the late 1990s.

Schools
The suburb has several schools to offer its residents. Among these are: Clancy Catholic College, West Hoxton Public School, Greenway Park Public School and Thomas Hassall Anglican College.

Population
Just like most places the West Hoxton grew in population. Only it was a six fold increase for this suburb. From 1996 to 2001, it reached 4,997 since its development of being a residential community.

In 2001, like the other suburbs of Sydney, West Hoxton had its share of many immigrants from other countries. It has drawn a higher percentage of people born in Non-English-speaking nations as opposed to those born English-speaking countries.

The new settlers were from Europe and other nearby Asia and Pacific countries. West Hoxton has a higher population of people born from Philippines, Fiji and Italy if compared to the entire Liverpool City.

Notable Residents
The suburb is home to a famous painter and sculptor – Wendy Paramor born in 1938 and died in 1975.

Transportation
Geographically West Hoxton is located at the west side of Cowpastures Road that connects to the rest of the roads leading to Liverpool and Camden. There is a bus service from Busabout running on this along Cowpastures Road connecting this suburb to Liverpool.
