Camden south is a village found in Macarthur Region in New South Wales, Sydney Australia. The village shares the same post code 2570 with the Camden Council which can be found at the immediate south of Camden.
History
Camden South was known to be the home of the Muringong. It is at the southernmost part of the Darug people and also at the Gandangara people which can be found in the Southern Highlands. It was in 1805 where in the wool pioneer John Macarthur was given 5,000 acres or is about 20 km² at the Cowpastures which is known today as Camden. When the land was cleared, it was then used for farming for almost 200 years until such time that Sydney’s suburban reached the town of Camden. The modern village such as the Camden South was then subdivided into housing blocks.

During the consensus which was done by the Australian Bureau of Statistics Census in 2001, it was found out that the village of Camden South had a total population of 4,653.
